Damaged Ambedkar Statues Leave Locals Angry In Meerut: Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, two statues of Bhimrao Ambedkar were found damaged, on May 25. The incident which occurred in the Hastinapur area, has left the locals and the people of Dalit community angry. According to Station House Officer (SHO) Kunwarpal Singh, the statues appear to have been damaged accidentally. Furthermore, the officials pacified the angry locals and assured to investigate the matter.

Gujarat's Trust To Donate Anti-Untouchability Coins For New Parliament

For laying the foundation for the upcoming parliament building, Ahmedabad-based human rights organisation Navsarjan Trust has launched a campaign to donate coins engraved with anti-untouchability message. The 1,111-milligram diameter coins, made of brass objects collected from locals, will have an inscription reading "Will the 1947 dream of untouchability-free India be a reality in 2047?" alongside images of Ambedkar-led Mahad Satyagrah.… read-more
