Animal Death

The Tamil Nadu government on June 3 informed that a 9-year-old lioness has succumbed to COVID-19 in Vandaloor Zoo. Notably, the lioness named Neela was completely asymptomatic. Earlier, nine Asiatic lions were tested positive for the virus and quarantined in the zoo. Meanwhile, the deadly virus has claimed the life of a tiger in Ranchi zoo as well, prompting the authorities to test the remaining 9 tigers for COVID-19.
