Walmart owned Flipkart has planned to create over 70,000 new jobs preparing for a rise in online shopping. Flipkart's "Big Billion Days" sale along with the festive sale generates their biggest sales of the year. The motive behind this is to provide seasonal jobs directly and indirectly. The company has also targeted over 50,000 grocery stores for last-mile deliveries as the sale has increased due to the pandemic.
