Karnataka CM's political secretary and BJP legislator M.P. Renukacharya urged the state government to ban madrasas in the state. He alleged that 'anti-national' ideologies are being taught there. He further questioned the need for madrasas when there are state-run schools. "They only teach Islamic (studies) there," said Renukacharya. He also stated that the teachings there will have an "adverse impact" on the minds of innocent children.
