Will Not Interfere In Orders Of CWMA, Says SC In Tamil Nadu-Karnataka Water Issue
In the Cauvery river water dispute, the Supreme Court on September 21, refused to interfere with the order of Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) to Karnataka on releasing 5,000 cusecs of water for now to Tamil Nadu.Tamil Nadu is saying they need 7200 cusecs, Karnataka is saying they can only give 2000 cusecs. We are not inclined to interfere. The Apex Court has asked the authority to meet every 15-days.

V Senthil Case: ED Moves Apex Court Challenging Madras HC Orders
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved to the Supreme Court, challenging Madras High Court (HC) orders in the V Senthil Balaji case. Notably, the Madras HC approved the plea of Senthil, demanding to shift in a private hospital from a state-run hospital. However, the ED opposed the orders, saying Senthil is an influential minister and could manage to tamper evidence and witnesses. The SC listed the matter to June 21.

Delhi Govt V/S Centre Tussle Over Services, SC Verdict In Favour Of AAP
The AAP and its president Arvind Kejriwal hailed the Supreme Court's verdict on the Centre-Delhi services. Arvind Kejriwal termed the Apex Court's decision as "victory of democracy". Supreme Court Directs To Club All FIRs Against Nupur Sharma To Delhi
In a relief to the suspended BJP member Nupur Sharma, the Supreme Court directed to club all FIRs registered against her to Delhi police. On August 10, the Top Court ordered to club all FIRs against her over her derogatory remarks on Prophet Muhammad to Delhi, releasing her from justifying and appearing before different states in India, where cases have been registered, triggering massive chaos and protests.

SC Refuses Bail Extension To Convicts Released Over COVID-19 Outbreak
The Supreme Court on March 1 refused to extend bail to 2,674 prisoners from Delhi who were released to decongest jails, following the COVID-19 outbreak. SC To Stop Sharing Video Conferencing Links On WhatsApp From Mar 1

In No Respite, SC Orders 100% School Fee Payment For Pandemic Period
The Supreme Court on February 8 held that parents have to pay 100% of school fees for the pandemic period. In the interim order, the apex court, however, cleared that any student’s name cannot be omitted from school rolls for non payment of fees. Also, directing that no board student will be denied permission to appear for exams, the court allowed parents to pay the dues in six installments from March 5.
