Deepika Kumari, Atanu Das Loses Bronze Medal Archery Match In WC Final
India's archery players, Atanu Das and Deepika Kumari lost bronze medal matches at the world cup final in Yankton (USA). The pair battled in frigid circumstances due to the lack of an Indian recurve instructor on October 1. Das was beaten 6-0 by defending Olympic champion Mete Gazoz of Turkey in a one-sided bronze playoff. He also stepped up as Deepika's coach after she lost against Michelle Kroppen.

Harvinder Singh Bags Bronze Medal Through Practice On Farmland

Tokyo Paralympics: Indian Archer Rakesh Kumar Secures 3rd Position
Scoring 699 out of 720 points, India's master archer Rakesh Kumar bagged the third spot while Shyam Sundar Swami with 682 points finished 21st in the men's compound individual archery ranking round in the Tokyo Paralympics at the Yumenoshima Ranking Field. Kumar secured the spot after a perfect 60 in the fourth and fifth set. Both are set to head for a possible mixed event with Jyoti Balyan.

World's No.1 Archer Deepika Kumari defeated former World Champion Ksenia Perova 6-5 of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) in the Women's singles Archery at the Tokyo Olympics. By being calm at the crucial moment, she secured a perfect 10 to win against the Rio Olympics silver medalist. Reportedly, Kumari is the first Indian to set foot in the quarter-finals of women's Archery.

Tokyo Olympics: Deepika Kumari Enters Pre-Quarterfinals In Archery
India's Deepika Kumari advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the Women's Individual event in Archery after surviving a scare against Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez of the US. Kumari won the match by a score of 6-4 and began the first set with a 7 due to windy circumstances and beneath the lights. However, she recovered with a 9-9. She managed to win the final set by 26-25, to advance into the pre-quarterfinals.

Indian archer Deepika Kumari secures ninth place with a score of 663 after 12 vigorous sets at the women's individual ranking round on the first day of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Deepika begun steadily and secured fourth place at the end of the first half but slipped in the second half. The opening ceremony of the Olympics will begin at 4 pm on July 23.

Indian Archer Sukhbeer Singh Plans To Quit Sport Over Financial Hardships
Indian Archer Sukhbeer Singh has planned to quit sport after the Punjab sports committee failed to reward him as promised. Singh, who is planning to move Canada mentioned that he cannot rely anymore on his family as the financial conditions worsened during the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier, the Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Sodhi had announced to honour Singh after he won gold medal in Spain, but failed to do so.
