Batch Of 231 Indians Return From War Hit Sudan Under Operation Kaveri

India brought back home a total of 231 people under its mission to evacuate stranded Indians from strife torn Sudan.  The Indians arrived in Mumbai on a commercial flight. "Another #OperationKaveri flight brings citizens back home. Flight carrying 231 passengers lands in Mumbai," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted. Operation Kaveri is underway to evacuate more stranded nationals of India, in Sudan.

MEA Expresses Shock Over Indian-Origin Sikh Family Murder In California

Days after four members of an Indian-origin Sikh family were found dead in California, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs described it as "shocking". On October 7, the Union Ministry said its mission in San Francisco is following up on the matter with local authorities. "Local police authorities are actively probing the matter. 18,000 Indians Leave Ukraine Amid Russia-Ukraine Conflict, Confirms MEA

The Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that approximately 18,000 Indians left Ukraine, as of March 3. Under "Operation Ganga", a total of 34 flights rescued 6,400 stranded Indians. Medical Student Shot Dead In Ukraine: Indian Govt

Twenty-year-old Indian student was killed in Ukraine, on March 1. MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted, "With profound sorrow we confirm that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. The Ministry is in touch with his family. We convey our deepest condolences to the family". Student identified as Naveen Shekharappa, hailed from Karnataka and was a fourth year student at Kharkiv National Medical University.

Indian Envoy To Boycott Opening & Closing Ceremony Of Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson of the MEA, on February 3, confirmed not to attend opening and closing ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. Disappointed with the torchbearer post, given to honour official commander involved in 2020 Galwan Valley clash, the Indian envoy decided to boycott the event. Taking a dig at the Chinese Government, Bagchi said, "Regrettable that China has chosen to politicise Olympics".

India Agrees To Discuss Expanding Of Pilgrimage Sites With Pakistan: MEA

India is ready for discussions with Pakistan on expanding the number of religious sites and modes of travel that can be visited by pilgrims on both sides. Under the 1974 protocol, the expansion of the pilgrimage sites will be discussed and India has a positive approach towards this issue, said MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi. Reportedly, Pakistan Hindu Council has proposed to fly 160 Pakistani Hindu pilgrims from Karachi to Jaipur.
