One Terrorist Neutralized In J&K Using Integrated Surveillance Grid

During an infiltration attempt in J&K's Poonch region, the security forces killed at least one terrorist. Lieutenant-colonel Devender Anand said that the soldiers who were on alert detected infiltration, using an integrated surveillance grid. "This action by alert Army troops displays resolve of Indian Army to thwart any misadventure along the Line of Control," he added. However, the operation is being investigated.

Army Pushes 'Cut-Off' To Over 80% Due To Rise In Female Applicants

The Indian Army has pushed the "Cut-off" in class 10 to over 80% for women candidates in order to meet the rising number of applications. An initiative was launched in 2019 to recruit 100 women every year. Notably, 1.6 lakh women candidates had registered in both 2019 and 2020. Considering the number of applications at present, a third batch of recruitment for women candidates were held recently.

Recognizing the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans, the Pentagon selected audiologist Deepa for this year. Mysore born Deepa, who currently heads the Audiology and Speech Center at Walter Reed, shifted to the USA at the age of three.

Israeli Army Airstrike On Hamas' Political Chief Yahya Sinwar's Place In The Gaza Strip

Israel has bombed the Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau Yahya Sinwar and his brother Muhammad Sinwar's house in an airstrike in the Gaza strip. As of now, there is no confirmation of his death or well-being. The army estimated that around 2,900 rockets were fired towards Israel by the Palestinian militants till 7 AM May 16. Yahya Sinwar has served two decades in Israeli prison till 2011.
