Arnav Goswami Accused Under 'TRP scam' Case; FIR Registered 9-Months Ago
In a very high-profile 'TRP scam' case, Mumbai Police has named Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami on June 22. Arnab has been named among the four others from ARG Outlier Media that owns Republic TV, the development has come after 9-months since the FIR registered in the case. In October 2020, the police had named Republic TV and two Marathi channels for allegedly manipulating TRP ratings to get more advertisements.

Times Group Demands Rs 450 Cr For Damages From BARC Over TRP Scam

Mumbai DCP Files Defamation Case Against Republic TV, Arnab, Wife
Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe on February 3 filed a criminal defamation case against Arnab Goswami and his wife Samyabrata Goswami. Abhishek, in his complaint, claimed the defamatory remarks by Arnab during a panel discussion aimed to malign and humiliate the Mumbai police. Reportedly, the show was based on late Sushant Singh Rajput and was broadcasted on Republic TV's YouTube channel on August 7, 2020.

Arnab Goswami Fails To Appear Before Court; Hearing Shifted To Feb 6
Republic TV Chief Editor Arnab Goswami on January 7 did not appear before a court that was going to hear the abetment of suicide case filed against him. For this, his lawyer sought an exemption from the court in Maharashtra's Raigad district. Arnab, along with two others, is accused of abetting an interior designer to commit suicide.
