Haryanvi Singer Sangeeta's Mutilated Body Discovered 12 Days After Going Missing
Haryanvi singer Sangeeta's mutilated body was recovered near Bhaini Bhairon village after 12 days. Her family filed an abduction report after she was last seen on May 11. The police arrested two people from Meham, Haryana, after they confessed to the murder. They had contacted her under the guise of producing a music video. Delhi Police has detained accused Anil, who's on a 5-day remand.

Ratan Lal, DU Professor, Detained In Connection With Gyanvapi Mosque Post, Given Bail
Delhi court issued bail to Delhi University professor Ratan Lal on May 21, who was detained on May 20 over a social media post purportedly designed to offend religious beliefs following the alleged discovery of 'Shivling' within the Gyanvapi Mosque complex in Varanasi. He was charged under Indian Penal Code Sections 153A and 295A. On May 21, Left-affiliated All India Students Association protested the arrest outside DU's Arts Faculty.

Police Arrest Member Of Shakti Naidu Gang After Encounter In South Delhi
Following an encounter in the Pushp Vihar region of South Delhi, the special unit of Delhi Police apprehended a gangster on May 14. Sunil Raj also known as Kala, the accused is a Shakti Naidu gang member who has been charged under the MCOCA Act. Sunil and his colleagues are also accused of being engaged in six horrific shootouts in Delhi, which resulted in two killings and four injuries.

Assam Police Detain Nine People For Allegedly Smuggling Cattle
Assam Police detained nine people for reportedly smuggling cows from Dhemaji to Nagaon or Jorabat and from Nagaon to Shillong on May 13. In Nagaon, police also rescued 102 cattle heads and seized seven cars. More research is being carried out.

Tajinder Bagga Gets Relief From Arrest Till July: Punjab, Haryana HC
The Punjab & Haryana High Court announced relief to the BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga. The HC bench announced a stay on his arrest till July 5. During a court hearing on May 10, the bench reviewed the petition filed by Bagga, against the Punjab Police, which issued a warrant against Bagga. The judgment came after the recent urgent hearing, held after Tajinder was arrested from his Delhi residence.

Arrest Was Illegal, Will Continue Fighting: Tajinder Pal
BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga claims that his arrest by the Punjab police was "illegal." He has also pledged to continue his fight until Delhi Chief Minister Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) apologises for his remarks on Kashmiri pandits. Police Seizes 615 Gram Heroin In Nagaland's Kohima
In Nagaland's Kohima, the police seized drug (heroin) worth Rs 3 crores, on May 4. As per ANI, during a routine check, the police suspected a vehicle at Peducha and recovered 49 packets of heroin, which was approximately weighing around 615 grams. In addition, the police arrested two people who were smuggling the drugs. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
