PM Modi Unveils Pocket Map Of Kartavya Path For Historic Buildings

PM Narendra Modi unveiled a pocket map of the Kartavya Path that carries information on various State Houses and historic cultural institutions located in the vicinity of the India Gate complex. 'Rajpath,' the ceremonial boulevard of the national capital that connects the Raisina Hill complex to India Gate -- was renamed 'Kartavya Path' last September and inaugurated as part of the revamped Central Vista Avenue by Modi shortly after.

Fine On Petitioners Seeking Removal Of Mosque Near Temple: Mathura

A local court in Mathura hearing a plea for shifting the Shahi Idgah mosque near the Lord Krishna's Katra Keshav Dev temple imposed a fine on the petitioners’ counsel. The fine of Rs 250 was for seeking an adjournment of the proceeding. In addition, the judge enforced the fine as petitioners' counsel Mahendra Pratap Singh sought a postponement on hearing of arguments on the maintenance of the plea.

US Air Force Permits Indian-Origin To Wear Tilak In Uniform

In the US Air Force, an Indian-origin Darshan Shah, was permitted to wear a Tilak Chandlo while on duty. On being asked the reason to wear Tilak, Shah responded, ''It’s my way of getting through hardships and difficulties in life. It provides me guidance." Notably, Shah sought a religious waiver for the same and received international support. He said, this is the first time, something like this happened.

Islamic Centre Of India Asks Mosques To Change Friday Prayer Timings On Occasion Of Holi

The Islamic Centre of India has requested mosques to change the timings of Friday prayers on the occasion of Holi, as per sources. ''Since Holi, Shab-e-Barat, and Friday prayers are on the same day, all efforts should be made to ensure peace and order in keeping with the composite culture of the country,'' stated Muslim authority. Notably, about 22 mosques have changed the timing of the Friday prayers till now.

The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open for devotees at 6:55 am, on May 6, 2022.  On the occasion of Mahashivratri, the Badri-Kedar temple committee conducted a meeting at Omkareshwar temple and decided the date & time to reopen Lord Shiva's Kedarnath temple. Moreover, the idol will be taken to Kedarnath Dham from Omkareshwar Temple on May 2. Notably, Lord Kedarnath is worshipped in Kedarnath Dham during summers.

New Virtual Museum To Honour Late DJ Avicii In Sweden

A museum in memory of the late electronic dance DJ Avicii commenced on February 26, in his birthplace Stockholm to render a peek into his life and artistic work. In addition, the virtual museum, "Avicii Experience'' will allow visitors to see his pictures, videos and listen to the unreleased music of the artist. Notably, Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead in Oman in April 2018.

After Hijab, College Asks Sikh Girl To Remove Turban: Bengaluru

While the Karnataka High Court continues to hear petitions for the hijab row, a 17-year-old Sikh girl Amritdhari was asked to remove her turban as per the uniform code by college. “Asking a Sikh to remove his/her turban is a big insult to a Sikh and the entire community,'' said girl’s father. Notably, the HC restrained students from wearing “saffron shawls, hijab, and religious flags'' in an interim order.
