Behala Art Festival Begins; Wall Paintings Depict Social Issues

In the Behala area, artists have painted the walls in the streets for the third edition of Behala Art Festival. The festival is all about the subaltern culture which will be held from February 25-27, following COVID-19 protocols. Meanwhile, artists are giving a final touch to the art which portrays various social issues. "Human civilization is passing through a dark era. Our theme is Light and Darkness," said Sanatan Dinda.

Paintings Of 8 Coimbatore Trans Artists Selected For Exhibition In Florida

As many as eight paintings of transgender artists have been chosen for an exhibition. The exhibition will be held at the University of South Florida, United States of America. Reportedly, the exhibition will be continued for six months from November 20, 2021 to April 20, 2021. One of the artists, Kalki Subramaniam said, "Over 100 trans people from across the world are participating."

Legendary Tabla Artist Passes Away Due To Covid-19

Subhankar Banerjee (54) passed away at a private hospital due to Covid-19 on August 25, after battling the virus from past two months. Famous classical musicians visited on August 26, at Sangeet Research Academy where his body was kept. Banerjee was completely vaccinated with both the doses and still got infected by the virus on June 20. Reportedly, he was on oxygen support for almost two months.

Nepal To Turn Everest Trash Into Artwork For Environmental Awareness

In an environmental awareness move, Nepal has planned to turn the trash left by Mt Everest trekkers into artwork. Project coordinator Tommy Gustafsson, founder of Sagarmatha Next Centre, said the move will involve foreign and local artists into this initiative.
