SC Extends Interim Bail To Ashish Mishra In Lakhimpur Violence

The Supreme Court extended the interim bail of Ashish Mishra, an accused in the 2021 Lakhimpur Violence. On July 11, the Top Court bench comprising Justices Suryakant and Dipankar Dutta extended the interim bail to September 26, citing the ongoing trial into the violence. The bench comprising granted the bail and adjourned the matter to September 26. Notably, in 2021, eight people, including four farmers were mowed down by Mishra.

Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case: SC Issues Notice To UP Govt Upon Receiving Ashish Mishra’s Bail Plea

The Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to the state government of Uttar Pradesh, upon receiving Ashish Mishra’s bail plea. This has come after Mishra challenged Allahabad High Court’s order in the apex court of India, which denied to grant him bail. The matter has been listed for hearing on September 26. Ashish, son of union minister Ajay Mishra, is an accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri case.

Lakhimpur Kheri Case: Ashish Mishra Moves SC For Bail, Challenging Allahabad HC Order

Ashish Mishra, the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, has moved to Supreme Court for bail, after his plea was rejected by the Allahabad High Court. Mishra contended that there is no scope for him tamper with the evidence, since all 98 witnesses have been provided security. The charge-sheet filed against Mishra submitted that he had “pre-planned” the killing. Further details are awaited.

SC Cancels Bail Of Lakhimpur-Kheri Incident Accused Ashish Mishra

The Supreme Court (SC,) canceled the bail plea of Ashish Mishra, the main accused in the Lakhimpur Violence, on April 18.  The BJP Minister Ajay Mishra's son has been accused of killing eight people in Lakhimpur, UP, and has been found guilty by SIT. Notably, in February 2022, Allahabad HC granted bail to Mishra. However, the SC canceled his bail and asked him to surrender within a week.

SC To Hear Plea Against Accused Ashish Mishra's Bail: Lakhimpur case

The Supreme Court has announced to hear a plea of Ashish Mishra in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence 2021, on March 15. Besides, the SC will challenge the grant of bail by the Allahabad High Court to Mishra, who had spent four months in custody. However, one of the prime witnesses of the Lakhimpur Kheri case was attacked on March 10.

Ashish Mishra Released On Bail In Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case

Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra's son Ashish Mishra, has been released on bail after fulfilling conditions laid down by Allahabad High Court, on February 15. Reportedly, the bail was granted and conditions were stated a week before the release. Ashish Mishra has been jailed since October, 2020 for his involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence case, which witnessed the killing of four farmers.

Allahabad HC Grants Bail To Lakhimpur-Kheri Incident Accused Ashish Mishra

Lakhimpur violence incident's main accused, Ashish Teni has been granted bail by Allahabad High Court (HC) on February 10. Reviewing the bail plea, Justice Rajeev Singh reserved the orders and granted bail. Notably, Ashish Mishra Teni, the son of former UP Home Minister Ajay Mishra Teni was accused in the killing of eight people, including four farmers in Lakhimpur, Kheri in 2021. Moreover, an SIT also found Mishra guilty.
