Gujarat Receives Highest Rs 608 Crore Funds For Sports, Bags 0 Medal At Asian Cup

India won 107 medals in the Asian games concluded recently. Speaking about the state wise wins, Haryana secured 44 medals, Punjab (32,) Maharashtra (31) UP (21,)Tamil Nadu (17,) WB(13,) Rajasthan (13) and Mizoram (1.) What is interesting about this, is Gujarat which received highest Rs 608 crores for sports, won zero medal at the Asian Cup. The data was shared by X user, questioning Gujarat sports development with funds.

Team India Win Against Pakistan 4-0, Enters Asian Cup Hockey Semi Finale

It was a comprehensive win for India over Pakistan in the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament in Chennai on Wednesday. In a match attended by Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and cricketer R Ashwin, India won 4-0. The power-packed match was with twist and turns, as the start was good for Pakistan. However, in the second half, Indian performed and won against Pakistan, making its way in Semi-Final against Japan.

Asian Cricket Council Set to Approve 'Hybrid Model' for Asia Cup

The BCCI proposed a Hybrid model for the Asian Cup, in September. Under the plan, four non-Indian matches will be played in Pakistan, while the remaining matches will be hosted in Galle and Pallekele in Sri Lanka. The ACC is likely to make an official announcement soon. Once the hybrid model is officially sanctioned, it will open the way for the Pakistan team to travel to India for ODI world cup.

Experienced Women Officials Assigned For AFC Asian Cup India

Several experienced women officials have been assigned to the upcoming AFC Women's Asian-Cup India, scheduled from January 20. For 12 participating teams, a total of 32 officials, which include, 16 referees and assistant-referees from 15 football-associations, will take charge in around 29 matches. A statement reads that "AFC has organised various workshops to ensure the highest standards of refereeing are maintained in the said cup."
