Gulab Chand Kataria Becomes 31st Governor Of Assam
Gulab Chand Kataria sworn in as the 31st Governor of Assam. On February 22, the former Home Minister of Rajasthan, 78 year old Kataria, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan took the office oath at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati. He succeeded Professor Jagdish Mukhi and became the 31st Governor of Assam. The President of India approved Governor Kataria's appointed after the term of Jagdish Mukhi, ended on February 19.

Guv Declares Assam 'Disturbed Area' For 6 Months Ahead Of State Polls
