Election Schedule For Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, UP & Manipur Announced
The Election Commission announced the Assembly Election Schedule for five states, on January 8. In Punjab, Uttarkhand, and Goa, the voting will begin on February 14 and will end on the same date. In UP, the voting will start on February 10 and will end on March 7. The voting in Manipur will start on February 27 and end on March 3. The counting will begin on March 10.

Senior Congress Leaders Resign In J&K Due To 'Negligence'
Many senior Congress leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir Unit submitted their resignations to AICC president Sonia Gandhi after being sidelined for the party affairs. The development is a big jolt to the party ahead of the unannounced Assembly elections in the state. Leaders such as Ghulam Nabi Monga, Anwar Bhat, Waqar Rasool and Naresh Gupta resigned. They are close to senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, reported UNI.

Two Congress Leaders Desert Party To Join BJP In Manipur
Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Manipur, Congress leader Rajkumar Imo Singh and Yamthong Haokip deserted the party to join BJP on November 8. Both the leaders joined the party in presence of senior BJP leader Sarbananda Sonowal and Manipur BJP in-charge Sambit Patra. They expressed their confidence in BJP's win in the elections. Notably, BJP came to power in the state for the first time in 2017.

CM Mamata Banejee To Visit Goa To Strengthen TMC's Position
Following the excellent victory in the West Bengal assembly election, CM Mamata Banerjee is set to visit Goa on October 28 to strengthen the party's position before the upcoming state election here. Reportedly, several leaders will join the TMC in the presence of Banerjee in Goa and she'll also ''open a new office in the state''. However, Banerjee will come back to Kolkata on November 1.
