Priyanka Gandhi Slams CM Yogi, BJP & SP: UP Assembly Elections

General Secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, on February 23, slammed the BJP and SP, for diverting people attention. During the UP Assembly elections, Gandhi said the opposition are focusing on terrorist act, avoiding women issues, unemployment and other youth issues in the State. She slammed CM Yogi Adityanath for not speaking of stray cattle issue, but lecturing people over terrorism, diminishing common people's issue.

UP Conducts 3rd Phase Assembly Elections For 59 Seats On Feb 20

Uttar Pradesh assembly elections' third phase for 59 assembly seats in 16 districts are underway, on February 20.  As many as 2.15 crore people are eligible to cast their votes and decide the fate of 629 candidates in the fray. Notably, the BJP, Congress, AIMIM and SP are in the fray for major seats like Hathras, Lalitpur and Kanpur Nagar. Meanwhile, over 21% voters turnout was reported till 11 am.

2 Villages Boycott UP 2nd Phase Assembly Elections Over Contaminated Water Supply

The second phase of Assembly Elections conducted on February 14, went smooth and peaceful. However, two villages Narau and Milaal Nangla citizens boycotted Assembly elections in Shekharpur constituency. Notably, the villagers took decision not to vote, due to contaminated water supply including drinking water. NIA Arrests Al-Qaeda Over Conspiracy Of Blast In UP

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested wanted terrorist Al-Qaeda, on February 9. The arrest was in regard to the conspiracy of bomb blast in poll bound Uttar Pradesh. The UP ATS filed a case against Towheed Ahmad Shah of Jammu and Kashmir, for allegedly hiring Al-Qaeda affiliated group to conduct an attack in UP. Based on the case, the NIA arrested Al-Qaeda, ahead of UP polls, starting from February 10.

During the budget parliament session, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on February 7, addressed the recent Asaduddin Owaisi attack. BJP Delays UP Manifesto Release Amid Lata Mangeshkar's Demise

The BJP unit in Uttar Pradesh, on February 6, announced to postpone, manifesto release. The decision was taken in the view of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's demise. Scheduled to release at 10:15 today, Amit Shah, Swatantra Dev, CM Yogi Adityanath announced to delay "Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra," the UP manifesto. The next date of the manifesto release would be announced soon. Meanwhile, UP elections are to begin from February 10.

Yogi Adityanath Files Nomination For Gorakhpur Seat: UP Assembly Elections

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, on February 4, filed his nomination papers from Gorakhpur Assembly constituency.  He filed his paper in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The filing of nomination paper was headed by a road show and rally. Notably, CM Adityanath is contesting the Assembly elections for the first time. He is the sitting MP of Gorakhpur, which will go for Assembly elections on March 3.

Nirbhaya Case Lawyer Seema Kushwaha joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on January 20. The move came ahead of the UP Assembly elections, scheduled from February 10. Reputed name in Legal field, Kushwaha said, "The issues that I am fighting for on the streets right now, need to be taken to the policy level". Notably, Seema will not be contesting the upcoming election, but will hold campaigning for the party.

Swami Prasad Maurya & 4 BJP MLAs Likely To Join SP: UP Assembly Polls

Swami Prasad Maurya, former UP Minister and BJP leader formally quit the party, on January 11. Along with Maurya, four other BJP MLAs; Brajesh Prajapati, Roshan Lal Verma, Bhagwati Sagar and Vinay Shakya also announced their resignation from the BJP.  The members are expected to join the Samajwadi Party. The big jolt to the Yogi Adityanath Government came when UP is going to conduct Assembly elections, starting from February 7.

BJP Unit To Launch LED Raths For Campaigning After Jan 14: UP Assembly Polls

The Uttar Pradesh BJP unit launched door-to-door campaign for the Assembly elections, on January 11. In addition, the BJP is to launch LED raths after January 14, with screens displaying the achievements of Yogi Adityanath led BJP  Government. These raths will cover all households of 403 Assembly segments, aiming people of UP. Reportedly, UP elections are to be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7.
