Assembly Elections

PM Narendra Modi started his four states visit, ahead of the 2024 Elections, from July 7-July 8.  The tour began with Chhattisgarh, Raipur, and will be covering Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan. In all the states, the PM Narendra Modi-led Central Government will launch several development projects, including the Vande Bharat Express train in UP's Gorakhpur. On July 8, PM Narendra Modi will visit Warangal in Telangana and Rajasthan.

After the BJP, Congress also released its manifesto for the Karnataka Polls, which is scheduled for May 10. In the released manifesto, the opposition party focused on women voters and youths. The big announcements include 200 units of free power to each household, Rs 2,000 to each woman head of the family under the Gruha Lakshmi project and a sum of ₹3,000 for two years to unemployed graduates.

The BJP appointed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as in charge of Karnataka assembly polls, scheduled in 2023. On February 4, the party announced Pradhan as their Karnataka in charge and Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai as co in charge for the Karnataka polls and issued an official statement about it. In the past, Pradhan also handled the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Karnataka government has agreed to establish a 30-foot bronze sculpture of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari, ruling deity of Kannada identity, on a half-acre plot of land at Kalagrama at Jnanabharathi campus in Bengaluru. In the floor test against the Shiv Sena that was held in the state Assembly on July 4, recently elected Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde prevailed. Thus, Shinde has established his majority in the state and will continue to lead his newly elected administration. 99 MLAs opposed the motion of confidence, while 164 supported it in the 288-member House. This is the Shinde administration's second significant legislative triumph.
