Arvind Kejriwal Announces 300 Units Of Free Electricity In Gujarat If AAP Elected In Upcoming Assembly Polls

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced that if AAP comes to power in Gujarat, 300 units of free electricity will be given to household consumers every month. Notably, Kejriwal has taking the cue from the existing models in Delhi and Punjab, where free electricity is already being offered to the people. The announcement has come ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections, which are scheduled to take place December this year.

In the floor test against the Shiv Sena that was held in the state Assembly on July 4, recently elected Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde prevailed. Thus, Shinde has established his majority in the state and will continue to lead his newly elected administration. 99 MLAs opposed the motion of confidence, while 164 supported it in the 288-member House. This is the Shinde administration's second significant legislative triumph.

A charge-sheet has been filed against Samajwadi Party MLA Brajesh Yadav over his breach of the Model Code of Conduct amid the recent Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh. A case was registered based on a video circulating on social media, which shows Yadav making a provocative speech against his political rivals. The charge-sheet was filed against him in a Budaun court.
