ECI Holds Review Meeting With Political Parties Ahead Of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections

Review meeting were held by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to discuss the preparedness for the upcoming elections in Himachal Pradesh. The review meetings were held with Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, IG, DIG, CAPF and Nodal officers of 12 districts. “Today we held a meeting with all political parties,” said Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.

Jai Ram Thakur To Retain CM Face In Himachal Pradesh's Upcoming Assembly Elections

BJP's National president JP Nadda stated that Himachal Pradesh's CM Jai Ram Thakur will continue to be the CM if BJP wins the upcoming state assembly elections, later this year. He further stated that other than 10-15% of the ministers, everyone will be retained. "BJP will contest the Assembly Elections under his leadership (Jai Ram Thakur)," JP Nadda told the reporters.

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy & 2 Others Summoned By Special Court: Andhra Pradesh

The Special Sessions Court for trial of MPs and MLAs has issued summons to Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and two others. The court directed the three of them to appear on March 28, in connection with a 2014 case. Reportedly, a case was registered against the trio for organising a road-show during 2014 assembly elections, allegedly without obtaining prior permission from the authorities, reported PTI.
