Punjab CM Calls For Special Assembly Session To Pass Confidence Motion

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann announced to conduct of a special Punjab Assembly Session. The special State Legislative Assembly session has been called on September 22, to pass a confidence motion. As per sources, the special motion will be in regard to the recent attempt of poaching AAP MLAs into the BJP, by offering a huge sum of Rs 25 crores, aiming to topple the AAP-led Punjab government.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan Elected As Punjab Assembly Speaker

After Bhagwant Mann came to power in Punjab, he elected Kultar Singh Sandhwan (46) of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the Punjab Assembly Speaker on March 21. He was escorted by Mann and Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to the Speaker's chair  and was elected unanimously in Chandigarh. Notably, Sandhawan is the grandnephew of former President Giani Zail Singh and is a strong leader with political background.

Girish Gautam Announces Madhya Pradesh Winter Assembly Session Dates

Madhya Pradesh Assembly session is set to begin from December 20. The 'Winter Assembly Session' will witness several bills, discussion over Covid-19 and other major issues of the state. The five-day Assembly Session will have zero hour, on December 22. Girish Gautam, the Assembly Speaker announced that the session will be held till December 24.
