Sprinter Hima Das Injured During 100m Heats, Yet To Qualify For Olympics

During the Inter-State Athletics Championship in Patiala, Sprinter Hima Das sustained a 'muscle pull' injury in the 100m heats. The information was revealed by the Athletics Federation on Twitter. The 21-year-old athelete is unlikely to make in Tokyo Olympics if the injury is serious, as she is yet to qualify for the showpiece. However, she entered the finals but her participation is yet to be confirmed.

AFI To Hold Elections During Annual General Meeting On October 31

The Athletic Federation of India (AFI) has scheduled the office bearers’ election for the term 2020-2024 on October 31 and November 1 during the Annual General Body Meeting in Gurugram. The federation had postponed the meeting from April due to the pandemic and did not hold online elections as they insisted on having elections 'in person'. The nominations for the post can be filed from October 18 to 21.
