Manipur Violence Continues, Internet Suspended For Next 5 Days

Amid the ongoing violence and protests in Manipur, the ruling government and police suspended internet services for the next five days. In addition, approximately 40,000 police personnel were deployed in the northeastern state, to control the situation, which is said to be out of hand for the ruling BJP. The violence started with a protest of tribals of Manipur against the non-tribals, demanding Meiteis, demanding ST status.

Chhatisgarh Naxal Attack: 10 Police, 1 Driver Killed

Ten police personnel and a driver were killed in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Wednesday in the worst attack on security forces in the Maoist insurgency-hit central Indian state since April 2021. Furthermore, Police said an improvised explosive device (IED) was used to blow up their vehicle when the policemen were returning from an anti-Maoist operation. Visuals showed the blast left a crater at the scene of the attack.

UK Issues Statement Regarding Attack On Indian High Commission

The UK will review the security at the Indian High Commission here following "unacceptable" acts of violence by pro-Khalistan protesters, said Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.  Concerned about such incidents, the UK Government warned of strict action and said, they have taken these matters "very seriously" and would "robustly" respond to such incidents. They would also adapt changes needed to ensure the security of the mission's staff.

6 Inmates Attack Assistant Jail Superintendent In Patiala Jail, FIR Registered

In Patiala,  police registered a case against six inmates for an alleged attack on the assistant jail superintendent of the central jail Amarvir Singh. The incident happened on July 20, when the superintendent went to check barracks in the Patiala Central Jail. The accused are Amanpreet Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Sukhdeep Singh and Jagdeep Singh. The six were also accused of extorting money from another inmate and threatening her.

UNAMA Urges For Protection Of All Minorities After Attack On Kabul Gurudwara

United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has strongly denounced the attack on a Sikh temple in Kabul, which is said to have caused multiple injuries. On June 18, unidentified terrorists stormed a Gurudwara in Kabul city, killing at least two people, reportedly a Sikh man and a security guard. Restaurant Staff Attacks Customers With Knife, Booked Under IPC Sections: Noida

In Noida, three staff of "Food Zilla" Chai Sutta restaurant and cafe, attacked customers with a knife, after a heated argument over a bill. On May 2, police registered a case and arrested the accused, who allegedly attacked two people Vishal and Rohit, who are currently being treated at a hospital. ACP of Noida Ranjvijay Singh registered a case under IPC sections and launched an investigation against owner and staff.
