World No.1 Ashleigh Barty Wins Australian Open Women's Title

Australia's Ashleigh Barty won the Australian Open women's title by defeating Danielle Collins of USA in the finals, on January 28. She defeated Collins by 6-3, 7-6. Notably, the victory is Barty's third Grand Slam title after winning Roland Garros in 2019 and Wimbledon last year. Barty is the first woman in 44 years to hold an Australian singles trophy, since Chris O'Neil's win.

Australian Open 2021 Shifted To February 2021; Guidelines Released

The 2021 Australian Open Tennis tournament will be held from February 8 to 21, which is three weeks delayed from the original schedule. Reportedly, the Victorian government has agreed to allow players to train outside their hotel rooms.
