MP MLA Court Acquits SP Leader Azam Khan In Hate Speech
In a major relief for the Samajwadi Party, the MP-MLA Court Session acquitted leader Azam Khan in the 2019 Defamation Case. Notably, a Uttar Pradesh court convicted Khan for his hate speech during a public rally. The judgement reversing the order of the lower court, was a major victory for the SP in the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh Government. Khan, the then SP MLA from the Rampur Sadar seat was convicted.

Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan Released From Sitapur Jail On Interim Bail: UP
Azam Khan, a senior Samajwadi Party politician, was discharged from the Sitapur prison in Uttar Pradesh on May 20. He had been in prison for the previous 27 months on many charges, involving land grabbing. On May 19, the Supreme Court granted him temporary release. His release from prison was made possible by the issuance of temporary bail.

Azam Khan Granted Interim Bail In Case Of Wrongful Possession Of Waqf Board Property: UP
Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan has been granted interim bail by Allahabad High Court in a case related to wrongful possession of land, on May 10. Reportedly, the bail order has been granted after obtained surety of Rs 2 lakh. The land involved is reportedly a waqf board property. Khan was lodged in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur jail for 2 years, before obtaining bail, reported PTI.

SP Leader Azam Khan Gets Bail In Jal Nigam Recruitment Scam Case: UP
The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, granted bail to former Urban Development Minister Azam Khan in connection with the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam recruitment scam, on March 11. Notably, Khan is currently in Sitapur Jail and was booked for committing irregularity in the appointments of 1342 recruiters during Akhilesh Yadav's regime. Furthermore, in 2017, the BJP Government came into power, they ordered SIT probe in the case.

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav To Cycle 350 KM In Support Of Azam Khan
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav will be undertaking a 350-km 'Cycle Yatra' in protest against the BJP-led UP government's action against Rampur MP Azam Khan. The SP supremo has alleged that the BJP government is trying to implicate Azam khan in fake cases. To be commenced from March 13, the yatra will start from Ambedkar Park in Rampur and will culminate on March 21 at SP Headquarters in Lucknow.
