Karnataka CM Announces To Unlock Several Districts From June 21
After a meeting chaired by Karnataka CM B S Yediyurappa, the government has decided to gradually re-open 16 districts out of 30 in the state from June 21. The 16 districts are those where the positivity rate is below five percent. Besides, Clubs, lodges, and restaurants are allowed to function till 5 pm with 50% of their capacity. However, the weekend and night curfew will still persist in the whole state.

Bengaluru Sees Decline In COVID Cases; ICU Demand Still High
Bengaluru has still been struggling with the rising ICU demand, although the tally of COVID-19 cases in the city has declined. Karnataka Govt To Resume Vaccination Drive For 18-44 Year Old
The Karnataka government has announced the resumption of vaccination drive for the people aged 18-44 from May 22. Earlier, the drive was supposed to start on May 12. According to the government, the frontline warriors will be given the first preference, followed by other eligible groups in the state. However, the district authorities will decide the number of vaccination sites and vaccinations to be given per day.

K'taka Announces Financial Aid Of Rs 1,250Cr To Lessen Lockdown Pain
The Karnataka government on May 19 announced a financial aid of Rs 1,250 crore for the people in trouble due to COVID-19 lockdown. The scheme will provide Rs 3000 as one time compensation to the auto, taxi and maxicab drivers as well as to the construction workers and artists in the state. Karnataka Govt Revokes Night Curfew Decision; Says 'Not Necessary'
Requesting people to self-restraint, the Karnataka government has revoked its decision to impose night curfew from December 24. Citing "public opinion" as its reason, CM BS Yediyurappa said a curfew is "not necessary". Earlier on December 22, the government had stated that there would not be any night curfew. However, on December 23, the Yediyurappa-led government had announced that night curfew would be imposed until January 2.

Karnataka CM Yediyurappa says, "I Will Quit Politics If Allegations are Proven"
Karnataka CM B S Yediyurappa on September 26, stated that he will quit politics, if proved that his son B Y Vijayendra was involved in corruption. Vijayendra, a BJP's state vice president is alleged of taking bribe from one of the contractors. The CM claimed the allegations baseless and said, "If there is an iota of truth that my family is involved, I will resign from politics."
