Pakistan's Babar Azam Tops ICC Men's ODI Ranking; Replaces Virat Kholi

Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam has replaced Indian skipper Virat Kohli and become the No. 1 player in the ICC rankings. Gaining 13 points in the Pakistan-South Africa series, the 26-year-old Pakistani skipper took an eight point lead from Virat. Achieving the feat, Babar became the only fourth Pakistani cricketer to chart #1 in ICC rankings. Notably, skipper Kohli had been ruling the top position for over three years.

Pakistan Cricket Captain Babar Azam Accused Of Sexual Exploitation

In a shocking allegation, a woman named Hamiza Mukhtar has accused Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam on November 28 of sexually exploiting her for a decade. Hamiza, who claimed to be Babar's schoolmate, also stated that she stood by him during difficult times and has backed him financially. The woman has alleged that Babar gave her false hopes of marriage. She also revealed that she received death threats from Babar.

Cricket: Azhar Ali Gets Replaced By Babar Azam As Pakistan Test Captain

Ahead of Pakistan's tour of New Zealand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has picked Babar Azam over Azhar Ali as the new captain of the team in all three formats. The team will first play the ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand. The two Tests will be held at Mount Maunganui from December 26-30 and at Christchurch from January 3-7, 2021. The PCB will be declaring the official squad this week.
