Muslim Personal Law Board to Challenge CBI Court's Babri Decision

All India Muslim Personal Law Board has decided to appeal in the High Court against the CBI court's Babri demolition case verdict. Zafaryab Jilani, AIMPLB Secretary, said that the judgement was "wrong". AIMPLB's senior member Maulana Khalid Rasheed stated that the "law of the land was shredded to pieces". Earlier, the Special CBI Court had given a clean-chit to all the 32 accused in the case citing "not enough evidence".

Babri Demolition: All Accused Acquitted; CBI Court Says Act Was Spontaneous

The Special CBI Court on September 30 gave a clean chit to all the 32 accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case. The Judge, Surendra Kumar Yadav, asserted that the demolition was "spontaneous and not pre-planned", and added that there was "no conclusive proof". Out of the total 32 accused, 26 were present in the court, with key accused LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi attending via video conferencing.

Ayodhya Mosque Will be Built Similar to Babri Masjid, Says Trust

Athar Hussain, spokesperson and secretary of the trust formed for Ayodhya's mosque construction, said that its size will be the same as that of Babri Masjid. He said that the size of the mosque will be around 15,000 square ft. Prof S M Akhtar, the dean of Jamia Milia Islamia's architecture department will head the design of the mosque. Reportedly, surrounding complexes of the mosque will include a hospital too.
