Security Tightened In Ayodhya: Babri Masjid Demolition Anniversary

Security was tightened in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya in view of the Babri Masjid Demolition Anniversary on December 6. Identity cards of those entering Ayodhya are being checked. The police force is on alert on the roads of Ram Janmabhoomi. ''The situation is much calmer in Ayodhya as compared to December 6, 1992,'' said Ramanand Shukla, Principal at a local school in Ayodhya.

Tamil Nadu: Government Disagrees to Conduct BJP 'Vetri Vel Yatra.'

Tamil Nadu government informed in the Madras High Court that they would not allow the Vetri Vel Yatra conduced by BJP citing possible COVID-19 risk. The month-long Yatra for Lord Muruga was scheduled from November 6. The petitioner claimed that the yatra could also create communal problems as it ends on the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition. However, the petition has been rejected and BJP can challenge the order.

Muslim Personal Law Board to Challenge CBI Court's Babri Decision

All India Muslim Personal Law Board has decided to appeal in the High Court against the CBI court's Babri demolition case verdict. Zafaryab Jilani, AIMPLB Secretary, said that the judgement was "wrong". AIMPLB's senior member Maulana Khalid Rasheed stated that the "law of the land was shredded to pieces". Earlier, the Special CBI Court had given a clean-chit to all the 32 accused in the case citing "not enough evidence".

Mosque in Ayodhya Will Not be Named 'Babri Masjid': IICF Spokesperson

Athar Hussain, secretary and spokesperson of the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF), confirmed that the Mosque to be built in Ayodhya will not be named 'Babri Masjid' nor will it be named after any ruler. He added that the shape may also be different while the measurement will remain the same. IICF has planned to launch a portal to collect funds from donors for a museum, research center and hospital.
