India Wins 6 Medals On 1st Day Of Asian Youth Para Games

In Bahrain at the Asian Youth Para Games 2021, India won six medals on the first day of the game, on December 3. Kashish Lakra earned gold medal in Shot Put Throw. Ananya Bansal and Vikas Bhatiwal bagged silver in Shot Put too. Sanjay Reddy Neelam and Bennet Biju George clinched Bronze Medals in Shot Put and in running, respectively. Another bonze medal was won by Laxit in Javelin.

Bahrain Court Imprisons 30-Year-Old Woman Accused Of Polyandry

A 30-year-old gulf woman has been imprisoned for 11 years by the Bahrain Court for marrying three men simultaneously without obtaining a divorce. Reportedly, the woman has been accused of cheating all three men and acquired a dowry amount of Rs 11,16,635 from all her husbands. However, the lady claims that she had obtained a divorce from her ex-husband but was found to be incorrect.

Bahrain Becomes Second Country To Authorise Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

Bahrain has become the second country to approve the emergency use of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine after the UK. However, the country has not mentioned when the vaccination drive will start or how many doses it has ordered. The decision was taken amid Bahrain already giving nod to emergency use of Chinese vaccine developed by Sinopharm. It has also vaccinated about 6,000 people with the Sinopharm-made vaccine.

Bahrain's Longest-Serving PM Khalifa Dies At 84

Prince of Bahrain, Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, passed away at the age of 84 due to ill-health. Khalifa, who breathed his last on November 11, was one of the world's longest-serving prime ministers. He was undergoing treatment at Mayo Clinic in the US. He had also faced corruption charges during his tenure. His son, Crown Prince Salman, announced that he was ready to succeed his father.

Trump Announces Normalisation of Bahrain, Israel Ties

Bahrain on September 11 became the latest Arab nation to normalise relations with Israel. Normalcy was announced on 19th anniversary of 9/11 by POTUS Donald Trump, who brokered negotiations between Israeli PM Netanyahu and Bahrain’s King Hamad Khalifa. Bahrain will also join the White House ceremony organised to mark the last month accord between Israel and UAE. Trump called the accord most powerful response to hatred that led to 9/11.
