Islamabad HC Issues Notice To Pakistan Top Investigation Agency
The Islamabad High Court issued a notice to Pakistan's top investigation agency seeking its response to the post-arrest bail plea of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan in a case related to the alleged disclosure of state secrets. Khan, 70, through his lawyer Salman Safdar filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court against rejection of his post-arrest bail by a special court that is proceeding against him.

Surat Court Reserves Verdict For Rahul Gandhi's Plea In Modi Surnam Case
Gujarat's Surat Court will pronounce the decision in Rahul Gandhi's plea in the 2019 defamation case on 'Modi surname' remark, on April 20. Notably, Rahul Gandhi is convicted in the 2019 defamation case and has been pronounced two years imprisonment, following which he filed a plea demanding a stay on conviction. The Surat Court reviewed the matter and has reserved the verdict. As of now, Rahul Gandhi is out on bail.

Delhi Court Rejects Bail Plea Of Manish Sisodia
A special Rouse Court of Delhi rejected the bail plea of Manish Sisodia, the Deputy CM of Delhi, with which Sisodia will continue in Tihar Jail. Notably, Sisodia filed a bail plea in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam, but the Delhi Court judge MK Nagpal rejected the petition. Now the AAP leader, who is also the prime accused in the excise policy scam will be in jail.

Delhi’s Mundka Fire Tragedy: Building Owner Files Revision Petition Challenging Order Denying Bail
In the ongoing investigation into the Delhi’s Mundka fire case, the building owner accused has filed a revision petition, challenging the order denying him bail. The petitioner had reportedly filed a bail application on the grounds that charge-sheet has not been filed. However, the application was rejected. The case pertains to a fire incident in Mundka area, on May 13, which killed at least 27 persons.

Bail Plea Is Right Of Every Prisoner, Says Allahabad Court
The Allahabad High Court has said that every prisoner has a fundamental right to file the bail application without delay. The single judge bench of Justice Ajay Bhanot was hearing a plea filed by Anil Gaur, an accused in a murder case. On September 15, the court granted bail to Anil, who could not approach the court as he was financially weak and abandoned by his family after his imprisonment.

Partha Chatterjee Pleas For Bail, Appeal To Court In Tears
Partha Chatterjee, former West Bengal Education Minister broke down in tears demanding bail. During the SSC Recruitment corruption case hearing, the TMC leader was heard saying, "Give bail, let me live.". Notably, Partha was arrested in a money laundering and scam case by the ED and is being investigated under jail custody. Along with Partha, his inmate and partner Arpita Mukherjee are also under judicial custody.

Patra Chawl Redevelopment Scam: Special Court To Hear Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s Bail Plea
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s bail plea will be presented before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act court, on September 8. Raut is booked under the aforementioned Act, in connection to the Patra Chawl redevelopment scam. Raut is a close aide of former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, and is currently in judicial custody till September 19. ED arrested Raut in August 1, over irregularities in the said case.

Sanjay Raut Files Bail Petition Before Special Court Judge
Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, who is currently under custody in a money laundering case linked to a housing project in Mumbai, applied for bail. On September 7, he filed a petition before a special court in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case: SC Issues Notice To UP Govt Upon Receiving Ashish Mishra’s Bail Plea
The Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to the state government of Uttar Pradesh, upon receiving Ashish Mishra’s bail plea. This has come after Mishra challenged Allahabad High Court’s order in the apex court of India, which denied to grant him bail. The matter has been listed for hearing on September 26. Ashish, son of union minister Ajay Mishra, is an accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri case.
