In Karantaka's Bangalore, three persons have been arrested for allegedly vandalising Tipu Sultan posters put on display to celebrate India's 75th Independence Day. Bangalore Receives 400% Extra Rain In Aug First Week
In the first week of August, Karnataka's Bangalore received 410% more rainfall than average. From August 1 to 8, Bangalore recieved 143 mm rainfall, compared to the usual 28 mm. As many as 500 animals died due to the rain, and over 8,197 people have been across various parts. Severe flooding has occurred across various low-lying parts of Karnataka.

Bangalore International Airport Receives Fake Bomb Threat
Bangalore's Kempegowda International Airport recieved a bomb threat via letter, which was found in the lavatory of a flight. However, after thorough search, it was concluded that the search was nothing but a hoax. The letter warned that a bomb had been planted, and left all the officials in panic mode. The letter read, "Don't land. There is a bomb on this plane".

Man Carries 16 Kg Heroin Worth Rs 112 Crore; Arrested In Bangalore Railway Station
Officials of the District Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested a man from Bangalore's Central railway station, who was allegedly carrying 16 kg heroin, packed in two 8 kg pouches. Reportedly, the drugs are worth Rs 112 crore in the international market, and the accused carried them in a false cavity in his suitcase. Shockingly, DRI stated that the man evaded checking and arrived at Bangalore airport from Ethiopia.

Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai Tests COVID Positive; Delhi Trip Stays Cancelled
Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai has tested positive for COVID-19 on August 6, due to which, has cancelled his scheduled trip to Delhi. According to his tweet, he has reported mild symptoms, and has isolated himself at home. Recently, Bommai visited Delhi on July 25 to 26, to attend the oath taking ceremony of newly elected President of India Droupadi Murmu.

Karnataka Landslides Claim Lives Of 6 In Dakshina Kannada & Uttara Kannada
A Karnataka police official stated that six persons have lost their lives due to landslides in Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada districts. In Uttara Kannada district, four members of a family were killed after a hill collapsed on their house. In another heart-wrenching incident in Dakshina Kannada, a hill collapsed on a house, killing two sisters, whose mortal remains were found holding hands together.

Karnataka HC Awards Rs 5 Lakh Compensation To Person Over Wrongful Arrest By Police
Karnataka High Court has ordered for the compensation of a 56-year-old man over wrongful arrest due to a confusion in his name. The Hon'ble court noted that the man's identification was not cross-checked and verified, and awarded a compensation of Rs 5 lakh. Reportedly, Ningaraju N, a resident of Bangalore's Kalidasa layout, was arrested in a 2011 criminal case, in confusion with accused Raju NGN.

Street Dogs To Not Be Removed From Streets Of Bangalore: Karnataka Animal Husbandry Dept
The Karnataka animal husbandry department has decided not to remove streer dogs from the streets of Bengaluru. Reportedly, after hearing from various residents of the city, BBMP has reversed its decision and decided to let the dogs be. However, the department has decided to vaccinate the street dogs for "infertility and against rabies". The department informed to vaccinate around 400 dogs a day.
