India Hosts 2023 Cricket World Cup, Hate Violence Against International Fans Raises Concern

In the past few days, amid the 2023 World Cup, hosted by India, several cases of robbery and harassment by Indians fans, came to watch cricket. This is not the first time, India hosted world cup. In 2011, not a single case of violence was reported, but the situation changed, leading to security concerns of international people, especially from Bangladesh, as people are endorsing such hate violence.

14 Hindu Temple Idol Vandalized In Bangladesh

In Bangladesh's Thakurgaon region, unidentified people vandalized 14 Hindu Temples in the wee hours of February 5, confirmed local sources. Mr Barman, the general secretary of the upazila's Puja Celebration Council, said some of the idols were destroyed while some were found in pond waters along the temple sites. He added, "We are in the dark about their (culprits) identity but we want to bring them to justice after investigations".

Bangladesh Boat Capsize Incident; 50 Reported Dead & Rescue Operation Underway

In the Bangladesh boat capsize incident, approximately 50 people were reported dead, after the police recovered 26 more bodies on September 26. Additional Deputy Commissioner Dipankar Roy confirmed the death report and assured the continuation of the rescue operation. On September 25, close to 60 people were travelling to Bodeshwari Temple for Mahalaya. Moreover, due to a lack of safety standards, such incidents are common in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh PM Says Rohingya Migrants Are Burden, Demands Solution

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina highlighted the burden of Rohingya migrants in the nation. On September 3, Hasina said, "For us its a burden. India is a vast country; you can accommodate but you don't have much...but in our country, we have 1.1 million Rohingya." Bangladesh PM further added that they are in talks with international communities and neighbouring countries to resolve this Rohingya issue, and send them back.

Bangladeshi Woman Rescued After Vizag Police Busts International Human-Trafficking

A Bangladeshi woman (22) was rescued by Visakhapatnam Police, after they busted an international human trafficking case, on May 4.  The woman, who came to Kolkata, 12 years ago, was promised an Indian visa and was sent to Visakhapatnam after she was given fake documents. In Visakhapatnam, Beesetti Dhanalakshmi (35), who runs a brothel has been arrested in the case. A case has been registered against Dhanalakshmi under relevant sections.
