In an ongoing terror funding case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at multiple locations in J&K's Baramulla district, on June 15. According to NIA, the raids were conducted at places where suspects are said to have misused the money generated from cross-LOC trade for fomenting terrorism in J&K. In a joint operation in J&K's Baramulla, the Indian Army and J&K police arrested two terrorists from the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), on June 10. A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist named Yousoof Kantroo and four militants were killed in an encounter in the Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir. The encounter broke out on April 21 after an intelligence input of terrorists' presence in the Malwah region, said police on April 22. In J&K's Baramulla, the Indian army organized a drugs awareness camp in which a free lecture was organized to address the youth on March 14. Unknown burglars looted a house in Chichlora area of Baramulla in Kashmir on January 28, where gold and cash were stolen. Reports said that masked men barged into the house of Bilal Ahmad Kutoo and Faizal Ahmad Mir at Chichlora, and decamped with gold and Rs 52,000 cash from the family members. As per the police, a case has been registered under IPC and IA Act.

First case of COVID-19's new variant Omicron was confirmed in Kashmir Valley, on January 11. A pregnant woman from Uri Baramulla tested Omicron positive. Her sample was taken on December 20, 2021 at SDH Uri for genome sequencing as she was COVID-19 postive. "She is stable, and doctors have been rushed to the woman's home and samples of her family members and neighbors will be done," said official.
