Family Of 5 Dead After House Wall Collapses In Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, a house wall collapsed on Bastar's Kanker, killing a family of five, on August 15. The incident occurred when the victim's were asleep in their mud house in Irpanar village in Pakhanjore area. The deceased include three children and their parents. Following the incident, district collector and SP rushed to the spot. It is suspected that heavy rains caused such an unfortunate incident.

CM Bhupesh Baghel Inaugurates Various Developmental Projects In Bastar: Chhattisgarh

On January 25, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated various development projects in Bastar. "The Ram and Krishna mandir temple premises that were once a bastion of fringe elements have not only been cleared but also has been beautified," Baghel said to the media. The CM also inaugurated a 250 lakh liter sewage treatment plant worth Rs 54 crores and the beautification of Dalpat Sagar in Bastar.

Patwari Suspended After Farmer Commits Suicide Due To Clerical Error

After a 45-year-old farmer Dhaniram Markham committed suicide due to a clerical error in paddy procurement, the patwari of Chattisgarh's Bastar division has been suspended. Due to the error, the procurement limit of Dhaniram was shown as 11 quintals, instead of 100 quintals. Reportedly, Dhaniram had committed suicide since he could not afford to pay his previous loans with the profit from selling 11 quintals of paddy.
