Four Rescued Bear Cubs To Be Released In Pakke Tiger Reserve: Arunachal Pradesh
Four rescued bear cubs will soon be released in Arunachal Pradesh’s Pakke Tiger Reserve (PTR). The bears include a five-month-old Siyang, and three of her peers. Notably, the acclimatisation process has been completed under the supervision of experts over the past few weeks. Siyang was rescued by local environmentalists when it was just a month old. It was then brought to Bear Rehabilitation and Conservation (CBRC), where it was nursed.

Trio Arrested For Killing Bear & Stealing Body Parts For 'Black Magic' Purposes: Chhattisgarh
In Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district, three persons have been arrested for allegedly killing a bear for black magic purposes in Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve. Forest officer Mayank Agrawal said that the trio was produced before a local court, which sent them to 14-day judicial custody. He further stated that a carcass of a young bear was found with many body parts missing. Reportedly, the trio confessed to the act.

US Woman Jailed For Approaching A Bear In Yellowstone National Park
Samantha Dehring, a US woman who came very close to a grizzly bear and her three cubs to take her picture in Yellowstone Nationa Park in May, has been awarded four days jail and fined $1,000. Dehring also unheeded park rangers' instructions. ''Approaching a sow grizzly with cubs is absolutely foolish,'' said Acting United States Attorney Bob Murray. The rules say one should maintain at least 100 meters distance.

Rescue Team Shoots A Bear In Personal Safety In Uttarakhand
The officials of the forest department of Uttarakhand's Chamoli shot a bear dead during a rescue operation after it attacked five personnel on September 22. Reportedly, the department launched the operation following the locals of Chamoli's Joshimath area complained about a bear roaming in the area. The department said, ''they tried to catch the bear by throwing a net. However, the bear attacked the team.''

California: Governor Candidate Brings 500Kg Bear To Election Rally

Speeding Vehicle Kills Bear And Her Cub In Odisha's Sambalpur District
A mother bear and her cub lost their life in Odisha’s Sambalpur district after an unknown vehicle hit them on December 26 while they were crossing a road in the Rairakhol forest division. The tragic incident happened on the Podabalanda-Badmal road. Initiating an investigation, the wildlife officials have sent the bodies of the 20-year-old female bear and her 5-year-old cub for post-mortem.

Himalayan Bears Turn Aggressive; Reduced Hibernation Periods To Blame
A study conducted by Zoological Survey of India in Kolkata has revealed that there have been behavioural changes in Himalayan Bears, turning them aggressive, leading to increased bear-human conflicts.
