In a shocking incident, a police sub-inspector identified as Sandeep Kumar was tied to pole and beaten in Uttar Pradesh's Agra. In the viral video, Kumar was tied naked to a pole and was allegedly beaten by the villagers after he was caught in a compromising position with a woman. The family of the woman alleged that the police officer was molesting the woman. Kumar has been suspended.

In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a 30-year-old man, Sunny was killed over a quarrel about "rotis." On June 26, a restaurant owner and his workers assaulted Sunny and his cousin, sending them to the hospital. Sunny had ordered 150 "rotis" for his birthday celebration on June 26 and paid for them, but only received 40. While the owner is being searched, two cousins and a worker have been detained. 

With the excuse of inviting him home, Firoz Khan was brutally assaulted by his girlfriend’s family members in UP’s Kasganj district. His head was even shaved and later he was dumped outside their village. The 25-year-old suffered severe injuries. As per his statement, three accused including the girl’s father, brother, and two uncles have been filed under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement).

In Odisha’s Bolangir district, a man was unlawfully beaten up and forced to drink urine for being supposedly accused of practicing sorcery. The sorcerer identified as Hadibandhu Bagarti, faced charges after few people in the village fell ill. Reportedly, the villagers dragged him from his house and thrashed him with sticks.
