Juvenile Thrashes 70 Year Old Beggar Over Heated Argument: Delhi

In a heated argument, a juvenile allegedly beat Mohd Abdul Sattar Khan (70) beggar in Delhi's Mehrauli, confirmed police on May 9. Notably, DCP Benita Mary Jaiker said, "PCR call was received at Mehrauli police station about an injured elderly man lying in front of a dargah near Pahalwan Dhaba". Khan was rushed to AIIMS Trauma center, she said. The juvenile, also a beggar has been booked under IPC sections.

80-Year-Old Mangaluru Beggar Donates Rs 1 Lakh To Temple

An 80-year-old woman named Ashwathamma donated a whopping amount of Rs 1 lakh to a temple in Mangaluru, Karnataka. On April 28, she donated her earned money through begging to the Kshetra Rajarajeshwari Temple. Furthermore, the woman is earning from begging for 18 years, after his husband's death. In addition, in the past also Ashwathamma donated up to Rs 6 lakhs to various temples and orphanages in Karnataka.

Meet Cafe Owner & Orphan Jyoti Who Used To Beg At Patna Railway Station

Jyoti (19), who was abandoned by her parents, now runs a cafe after her fair share of hardships. Jyoti reportedly used to beg for money at Patna Railway Station along with a beggar couple who adopted her. After the demise of her mother, jyoti took shelter at Rambo Foundation and pursued her studies. Now she runs the cafe and stays at a rented house.

Beggars Corp. Turns Beggars Into Entrepreneurs: Varanasi

Centre Says India Has Over 4 Lakh Beggars; Highest In West Bengal

Union Social Justice Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot has stated that India has over four lakh beggars according to the 2011 census. While Lakshadweep has only two beggars, West Bengal recorded highest number of beggars with 81,244.
