Iga Swiatek Withdraws From Berlin Open Due To Shoulder Problem
Iga Swiatek, world No. 1 and current French Open champion, withdrew from Berlin Open on June 10 due to a shoulder ailment. She expects to be completely prepared for Wimbledon, which begins later this month. Swiatek won the French Open final against American Coco Gauff. This was her second Roland Garros trophy, after winning in Paris in 2020. Swaiatek's victory streak now stands at 35 games, matching Venus Williams' record.

Germany Reintroduces Free COVID-19 Tests Due To Rise In Corona Cases
Germany reported a daily rise of over 40,000 COVID-19 cases. According to reports, the country is facing the brunt of rising coronavirus cases and hence the government has taken the decision to reintroduce free COVID-19 tests. According to the Robert Koch Institute, 45,081 new cases have been reported with 228 deaths in the last 24 hours. The government urged its citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Scientists Develop System to Detect Rare Diseases from Portraits
An Artificial Intelligence system has been developed by the scientists from Berlin to detect rare diseases. The AI system will be using the portrait photos of people and their health data to diagnose rare diseases. Reportedly, the software detects the facial features of the person affected, who shows abnormalities in a photo. The computer program has been trained using 30,000 portrait pictures of people affected.
