The recently released Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan, caught into a Controversy. The film which earned over Rs 30 crores, in just two-days, is being highly criticised for its Bhagavad Gita reference in a sex scene. In the highly appreciated film, the Hindu mythology reference has allegedly hurt religious sentiments of the Hindus in India. Many took to Twitter and demanded the removal of the scene, from film.

Gujarat Government Makes 'Bhagavad Gita' Part Of School Syllabus

In the Assembly on March 17, Gujarat government announced that Bhagavad Gita will be a part of the school syllabus from classes 6 to 12 in the state. During a discussion on budgetary allocations, Education Minister Jitu Vaghani made the announcement. The decision was taken to introduce the values and principles enshrined in Bhagavad Gita. Furthermore, the government will provide books and audio-video CDs to the students.

Mysuru Library Having 3,000 Bhagavad Gita Copies Burnt By Miscreants

A private-run Mysuru library having 3,000 Bhagavad Gita copies was burnt by miscreants on April 9. Run by 62-year-old daily wage labourer Syed Issaq and located in Corporation park's shed, the library had 11,000 books in Kannada and Urdu. With the help of Kannada donors, Issaq also kept 11 daily newspapers in various languages. Filing a complaint, the police suspects that garbage dumped near the library caused the fire.
