The Punjab Cabinet led by chief minister Bhagwant Mann gave approval to start the Mukhya Mantri Tirath Yatra Darshan scheme (CM pilgrimage scheme) to enable the people of the state to visit various pilgrimage sites across the country free of cost from the upcoming 'parkash purab' of Sri Guru Nanak Dev on November 27. The Cabinet also gave its nod to introduce the Punjab OTS scheme for settlement of pre-GST.
The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday passed a bill introduced by the AAP government for the free broadcast of sacred Gurbani from the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The bill was passed despite opposition from the religious sikh community in Amritsar. However, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said, Gurbani is everyone's right and it should be free of cost. The new proposal amend the Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925 and insert Section 125 A.

The AAP-led Punjab government's move to amend the Sikh Gurdwara Act, 1925 to ensure ''free telecast rights of Gurbani'' from the Golden Temple has triggered a massive row. On June 18, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, the apex religious body for Sikhs, has reacted sharply to the move, asking the government ''not to interfere in religious matters.'' The BJP-led Central Government approved and provided Z+ security to the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. As per sources, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was given the security amid crack down on pro-khalistani in Punjab and threat of life to the Punjab CM. CM Bhagwant Mann announced that 36 principals from Punjab will have the opportunity to visit Singapore for professional training. The decision was taken to enhance the education system of Punjab, as this principal will get training and enhance their skills. The 36 school principal will head to Singapore on February 4, said the Punjab Government. The Punjab government aims to help lakhs of students from across the state.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann gave nod to hike the minimum wages of construction workers by Rs 715 per month. The decision to this effect was taken during a review meeting of the Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Moreover, minimum wages of unskilled workers have been hiked to Rs 9,907 from existing Rs 9,192 whereas that of semi-skilled have been enhanced to Rs 10,687 from Rs 9,972.

AAP-led Punjab Government recently approved to draft Electric Vehicle (EV) policy in the State. CM Bhagwant Mann gave a nod to draft the new EV policy, with an aim to promote electric vehicles in the Punjab region. The new policy will aim to reduce carbon emissions.
