Reliance Jio, Adani group & Major Participates In 5G Telecom Spectrum Auction

The auction for 5G telecom spectrum began on July 25. Four key contenders are Reliance Jio, Adani Group, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea. Google May Invest Thousands Of Crores In Bharti Airtel

As Bharti Airtel is looking to raise capital, Google may invest thousands of crores in the company, said media reports. If Google invests in Airtel, it might be very beneficial for Airtel to increase its market capacity in 4G and 5G networks as well as pay off the loan amount to the government. However, Google may ditch the plan as it already has a partnership with Jio.

The platform powered by Airtel IQ will help users connect to verified sources for hospital beds, medicines, ICU etc. Airtel is also offering COVID-19 helplines for businesses to stay connected to their employees and organize their efforts.

Airtel Clocks Highest Ever Quarterly Profit In FY2021-Q3

Adding 13 million 4G consumers in the last quarter, Bharti Airtel reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 854 crore for the third quarter of the financial year 2021 on February 3. Besides, the telecom operator recorded a 24% growth at Rs 26,518 crore in its consolidated revenues. Interestingly, owing to the lockdown and work from home, the company witnessed a 32.4% hike in revenues from mobile services in India.

Vodafone Idea to Reframe Features of RedX to Avoid TRAI's Ban

Vi (Vodafone-Idea) has planned to reconstruct the features of its RedX plan to avoid a ban from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Vi plans to remove its 'faster data speed' and 'priority network access' features from RedX and resubmit the tariff plan to TRAI. Vi had introduced the plan in 2019. Earlier, Airtel had also faced a similar ban, which was later revoked after it tweaked its plan.
