Gujarat Woman Set On Fire For Naming Her Puppy 'Sonu'

In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old woman, Neetaben Saraviya, was allegedly set on fire by her neighbour because she named her puppy 'Sonu' in Gujarat. Reportedly, the neighbour was angry at Saraviya as Sonu is her wife's nickname. The victim is receiving treatment for at a government hospital in Bhavnagar. Reportedly, the police have registered an FIR against six persons. However, the police are yet to arrest the accused.

Centre Grants Rs 1,000 Crore For Cyclone Tauktae-Ravaged Gujarat

PM Narendra Modi has announced Rs 1,000 crore for relief work in Gujarat after his aerial survey of the destruction caused by cyclone Tauktae in the state. The PM also promised an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured in the calamity. Cyclone Tauktae has affected mainly districts of Gir Somanth, Amreli and Bhavnagar along with parts of Diu.
