Journalist Gautam Navlakha Denied Bail In Bhima Koregaon Case

A special Mumbai court has rejected the bail application of activist and journalist Gautam Navlakha, an accused in the Bhima Koregaon case. Notably, on September 5, the court reviewed the plea, which was filed for the first time since Navlakha's arrest in April 2020. Navlakha’s application mentioned him as a peace activist, exactly opposite of Maoists. With the rejected bail plea, Navlakha will remain in police custody

SC Issues Bail To Varavara Rao In Bhima Koregaon Case For Medical Concerns

Varavara Rao, Telugu poet and activist who is charged in the Elgar Parishad case, has been given six-month medical bail by Supreme Court. The 82-year-old petitioner was under home arrest since 2018. Bombay High Court noticed that the petitioner had health problems. “The appellant shall not misuse his liberty and not get in touch with any of the co-accused or try to influence the course of the investigation,” SC stated.

SC To Examine Varavara Rao's Request For Permanent Medical Bail In Bhima Koregaon Case

The Supreme Court will hear a petition filed by a Telugu poet and accused in the Bhima Koregaon-Elgar Parishad case, P Varavara Rao, on July 11 for permanent medical bail. A three-judge panel consisting of Justices U U Lalit, S Ravindra Bhat, and Sudhanshu Dhulia is expected to hear the case. Rao opposed the Bombay High Court's decision since his request to be transferred to Hyderabad was also refused.

IPS Rashmi Shukla Summoned In 2018 Bhima Koregaon Blast Case As Witness

IPS Officer Rashmi Shukla has been summoned in 2018 Bhima Koregaon Case, as a witness. The inquiry commission of the case asked IPS Shukla to appear before them on January 18, as depose witness. Initially, she sought permission to abstain from the hearing and didn't appear. After approval from SC, the Commission issued fresh summons to Shukla. Notably, the 2018 Bhima Koregaon blast killed 162 people and left several injured.

SC Rejects NIA Plea Challenging Sudha Bharadwaj Bail Orders

The Supreme Court (SC) on December 7 rejected the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) petition challenging Sudha Bharadwaj's bail orders. Earlier on December 1, the Bombay HC granted default bail to the Elgar Parishad Bhima Koregaon case accused activist Bharadwaj. The NIA disagreed with this and challenged the HC's orders in the SC. Accused Bharadwaj is among 16 activists who have been granted default bail in the case.

Bombay HC Approves Bail Plea Of Sudha Bharadwaj; Bhima Koregaon Case

The Bombay High Court (HC) on December 1, approved the default bail plea of activist Sudha Bharadwaj, an accused in Elgar Parishad Bhima Koregaon case. The court directed her to approach a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court regarding bail conditions. Activist Bharadwaj is going to appear before NIA, which would the decide bail conditions, on December 8. Sudha Bharadwaj is in Byculla Women's Prison in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Bhima-Koregaon Accused Varavara Rao Granted Bail By Bombay HC
