MP: Escaping Fire Leopard Jumps Over Transformer, Dies Of Electrocution

A leopard was reported dead after jumping over a power transformer in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. Reportedly, the big cat was roaming in an agricultural land in search of food while the stubble caught fire and it jumped onto a power transformer and died of electrocution. However, the forest officials after post-mortem dumped the dead carcass as per the National Tiger Conservation Authority guidelines.

India To Receive Cheetahs, Declared Locally Extinct In 1952, From Africa

In a world’s first inter-continental large carnivore's relocation, India will receive the first batch of cheetah from Africa by 2021 end. Declared extinct in India in 1952, the cheetahs will be relocated to six different locations in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. 77 People Arrested Under Poaching Case, Reveals MP Forest Minister

Nearly 93 tigers have died in the ‘Tiger state of India’ Madhya Pradesh including 25 due to poaching. Providing January 2018-January 2021 data, the state forest Minister Vijay Shah on March 1 revealed that 77 people were arrested for poaching. Shah also mentioned other big cats death due to natural calamities, diseases and mutual conflicts.
