Nitish Kumar Assures Action Against Miscreants Involved In Ram Navami Violence
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar finally reacted to the incident of Ram Navami violence in the region. Addressing the media, Kumar said that those involved in the incident of violence and stone pelting will not be spared. Furthermore, speaking of Amit Shah's visit, Kumar said, "I don't know why he was coming and I don't understand why he decided not to come". Furthermore an investigation is underway.

After resigning as the NDA-BJP CM, Nitish Kumar formed an alliance with Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD and staked claim to form his JDU-RJD Government in Bihar. The U-Turn, breaking alliance with the BJP paved way for the Lalu Prasad's RJD in Bihar. Furthermore, while Kumar became CM, RJD's Tejaswi Yadav is Deputy CM.

JDU Officially Exit NDA, BJP Alliance In Bihar
Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) (JDU) officially walks out of alliance with the BJP in Bihar, on August 9. The developments came after a meeting of MLAs and MPs, at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's residence, Patna. Furthermore, Kumar will meet Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan at 4:00 pm and resign as the State CM. Moreover, with the official exit of JDU from NDA, the party may join hands with the opposition.

NItish Kumar Announces Rs 2 Lakh Ex-Gratia For Pune Building Collapse Victims
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to families of deceased and Rs 50,000 to injured in the recent Pune Building Collapse. Notably, in a building collapse incident, five labourers hailing from Katihar died in the incident. Approximately 10 labourers were working for an under construction building in Pune, when an iron rod tapped over them killing five. The incident took place on February 3, night.

Nitish Kumar Renews Pledge For Prohibition Of Liquor In Bihar
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar renewed his pledge of liquor prohibition in the entire State on November 26. He took the pledge at Gyan Bhavan, on the banks of Ganga. Along with Kumar, Police officials, students, government officials, and MLAs also took the pledge to make Bihar an alcohol-free State. In addition, Nitish Kumar rejected the plea of liquor traders, demanding reconsideration over the pledge of liquor prohibition in Bihar.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Urges PM Modi To Take Call On Caste-Based Census
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar leading the delegation of 10 parties, including the opposition RJD, met with PM Narendra Modi on August 23 in Bihar, demanding a caste-based census in India. Following the meeting, Kumar said, ''We're grateful to the PM for listening to us. Now, he has to decide on it.'' However, the center has so far not supported the decision several times.

Bihar CM Appeals To Save Trees, Ties Rakhi To Them
To celebrate Rakshabandhan and promote the conservation of trees, Bihar's CM Nitish Kumar tied rakhis to trees in Patna on August 22. Urging the people to plant saplings, Kumar also said, ''People should save trees, just like they save people...We need to plant trees and save them to conserve the environment.'' Notably, he has been continuing the act since 2012 as a ''Vriksh Raksha Diwas'' or Tree Protection Day.

Nitish Kumar Becomes Bihar CM For Fourth Consecutive Term
For a fourth consecutive term in office, Nitish Kumar took charge as the Bihar CM on November 16. Two deputy CMs - BJP's Renu Devi and Tarkishore Prasad - and 12 other cabinet ministers also took charge. Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda attended the ceremony in Patna. PM Narendra Modi wished Nitish Kumar and said, "The NDA family will work together for the progress of Bihar."
