Chirag Paswan Claims BJP's Awareness About Bihar Election Decision

Politician Chirag Paswan claims that BJP was aware of his decision to fight the Bihar Elections outside the NDA. While he did not deny to a possible alliance with RJD, he also said that his belief in PM Modi may change if it remains 'one-sided'. However, Paswan has decided not to fight against BJP due to their 2014 alliance, but alone, after his agenda wasn't given importance.

Bihar Records 55.22% Voter Turnout In Last Phase Of Elections

In the final phase of Bihar elections, around 55.22% voters cast their votes on November 7. Deciding the destiny of 1,204 candidates in 78 constituencies, around 2.34 crore voters were expected to participate in this phase. The voting percentage was comparatively lower than that of 2015 (56.66%). Voting was also held for the Valmiki Nagar constituency, which fell vacant after the death of JD(U) MP Baidyanath Mahato in February 2020.

Patna: Free Uber Rides To Polling Booths For Elderly, Differently-abled Voters

In a novel initiative, the Election Commission will provide free 'Uber rides' to polling booths to voters who are differently-abled or above 80 years, in Patna. Rides up to Rs 120 will be free and exceeding fare will be borne by the voter. Eligible voters will need to get a code by calling on toll-free number 18003451950. Constituencies of Digha, Bankipur, Kumhrar and Patna Sahib will go to the polls on November 3.

Bihar: Gangster Killed By Unknown Men In Aurangabad District

Ahead of the state assembly elections, a Maoist-turned-gangster Jitendra Singh, also known as 'Tiger', was killed on October 18 by a group of unknown men in Bihar's Aurangabad district. He was driving with three other men when his car was attacked by the assailants. Reportedly, one companion also suffered injuries while two survived the attack. The police informed that the attack appeared to be a result of a gang-war.

PM Modi To Visit Bihar Ahead Of Elections; Will Hold 12 Rallies in Three Phases

BJP's Bihar election-in-charge Devendra Fadnavis on October 16 announced that PM Narendra Modi will hold 12 rallies for the upcoming Bihar elections. Reportedly, the PM will hold the rallies in three phases dated October 23, October 28 and November 1. Fadnavis further added that the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will also take part in the rallies and the party will make sure that the COVID-19 norms are followed.
