Bihar: Dainik Jagran Journalist Shot Dead By 4 Unknown Miscreants, Case Registered
In shocking news, a journalist of Dainik Jagran, Vimak Kumar Yadav is shot dead in the Araria district of Bihar, on August 18. Four assailants came riding on a bike and called him out of his house and shot him. Notably, in 2019, Vimal's brother was also murdered, and he was the witness. The murder has created an uproar in the district, and an investigation has been launched into it.

Under Construction Bihar Bridge Collapsed For 2nd Time In 14 Months
Under construction, in Bihar's Bhagalpur, the bridge fell for a second time in 14 months. The visuals of the bridge collapsing dramatically, went viral on social media platforms. According to sources, at least 30 slabs of several pillars collapsed close to a 100 ft bridge. The four-lane Sultanganj-Aguani Ghat Bridge was estimated to be constructed for Rs 1,710 crores, and was under construction, connecting Sultanganj and Khagaria.

Bihar: 6 Died, 10 Injured After Consuming Spurious Drink
In Bihar's Motihari region, six people died whereas 10 fell ill after they consumed spurious drink. As per sources, the ill people are admitted to hospital after drinking spurious liquor in Motihari, Bihar. In the incident, the Bihar Police have arrested seven people and an investigation has been launched. Jayant Kant, DIG, Champaran Range confirmed the updates and launched an investigation.

Lalu To Remain In Jail As Jharkhand High Court Defers Hearing On Bail Plea
The Jharkhand High Court has postponed the hearing of Lalu Prasad's bail plea to November 27 in the Dumka Treasury Fodder Scam Case. Prasad, who was convicted in four cases, has received bail in three. His counsel, Kapil Sibal, claimed a bail citing his health and informed that Prasad has already served more than half of the sentence. Bihar Records 55.22% Voter Turnout In Last Phase Of Elections
In the final phase of Bihar elections, around 55.22% voters cast their votes on November 7. Deciding the destiny of 1,204 candidates in 78 constituencies, around 2.34 crore voters were expected to participate in this phase. The voting percentage was comparatively lower than that of 2015 (56.66%). Voting was also held for the Valmiki Nagar constituency, which fell vacant after the death of JD(U) MP Baidyanath Mahato in February 2020.
