Bathinda’s 73-year-old Mahinder Kaur has filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut for misaddressing the latter as Bilkis Dadi of Shaheen Bagh. Mahinder, in her complaint, mentioned that Kangana has not even tendered apology after the incident. Besides, she claimed Kangana's social media post had harmed her reputation, and she faces mental tension and harassment from society. Reportedly, a hearing has been scheduled on January 11.

Police have arrested the Shaheen Bagh protest-famed Bilkis Dadi on December 1 for supporting farmer protests in the Delhi-Haryana border. Bilkis has stated that they were daughters of farmers and they would support the protests. Moreover, she has said, "We will raise our voice, the government should listen to us.” The 82-year-old Bilkis has been featured recently in the 'BBC's 100 Women of 2020' list.

The Time magazine has included 82-year-old Bilkis, who was one of the “dadis” to lead the anti-CAA protests at Shaheen Bagh in “100 Most Influential People of 2020”. The article, penned by journalist Rana Ayyub, states that Bilkis did not move from the protest site despite cold winters and fear from CAA supporters. She inspired thousands of others including students and leaders to join the protests, staying in roadside tents for months.
