Indian pharmaceutical company Mankind Pharma on June 10 launched the antifungal drug Posaforce-100 for affordable treatment of deadly black fungus. Recommended by AIIMS and ICMR, the Posaconazole Gastro resistant tablet has also been approved by the Drug Controller General of India. India Procures 2 Lakh Doses Of Black Fungus Drug 'Amphotericin B'
The central government has successfully procured two lakh doses of AmBisome (Amphotericin B injection) used to cure deadly Mucormycosis (black fungus.) Reportedly, PM Narendra Modi had asked officials to procure the important drug "from anywhere" in the world, and these doses have been acquired "with help of Gilead Sciences in the USA". With the sudden rise in black fungus cases, the demand for the drug has skyrocketed.

Bajaj Healthcare Launches Drug To Cure Black Fungus In COVID Patients
Giving relief amidst mounting Mucormycosis cases, Bajaj Healthcare on May 28 launched a drug to treat the black fungus infection in the COVID-19 patients. Named Posaconazole API, the anti-fungal drug has been granted regulatory approval by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Meanwhile, the company aims at starting commercial production as early as in June first week for the both domestic and international market.
